Since the inception of the Institute in the year 1988, efforts were made to undertake research projects with a view to determine KAP of the community towards health care in Rajasthan. In the following years, projects were sanctioned by the national and international agencies. A separate Research and Evaluation division was created to cope-up with the project work on diverse problems such as social, health, environment, literacy, pollution, forestation, and natural resource etc. More than 200 projects have so far been evaluated.
Project formulation was conceived with different dimensions such as carrying out surveys and investigation, study and preparation of project feasibility reports and detailed project reports, designing and engineering, bid preparation, inspection and quality control, project monitoring and management, post project evaluation and organizational management. The institute offers a wide spectrum of socio-economic services and undertakes applied research, development and transfer of know how technology for the benefit of public sector undertaking, private organizations and other institutions concerned with the development and management of the society. Currently the institute is implementing two major projects i.e.
(1) DPIP project on SHG in Distt Tonk.
(2) SHG Projects in Sikar
(3) As Technical Agency for Khadi & Village industries in Hissar, Haryana & Bikaner in Rajasthan
(4) Mobile Computer Education in Schools at Jaipur, Jodhpur & Bikaner
(5) Community Awareness & Participation Project at Jaipur & Bhopal with Financial Assistance from Asian Bank
The new millennium year was focused on literacy project. The institute has undertaken 11 studies of the Total Literacy Project (TLPs) being implemented in various states of the country. The studies deal with evaluation of the literacy programme and to suggest the remedial measures for the projects in area where the result in not so encouraging.
The division has under taken the research studies on the captioned subject in three states of the country i.e. Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharastra. Thermic Network on Sustainable Policies for Promoting Water Conservation Technologies And Practices.
The Project is being implemented on behalf of European union. The basic objective of the research is to analyze the existing policy instrument concerning the water supply its availability with-in each of the sector of water use. To begin with, the focus is mainly on Rajasthan State and later on other will be gradually added to the programme.
